Who this is for

Four ways people get into spray foam.

Pick the one that sounds like you. It pre-fills the form, so the first call starts in the right place.

Starting from scratch

No rig, no crew, no customers yet. You want a trade you can own and a supplier who will teach it properly.

Training first, then a rig sized to the work in your market.

Adding foam to a contracting business

Roofing, insulation, framing or remodeling. Your customers already ask for spray foam and you sub it out.

Keep that margin. Spray it yourself with a crew you already trust.

Bedliner, auto or RV shop

You already run a bay and a customer list. A spray line adds a second revenue stream to the same building.

One rig can be spec'd for foam and polyurea from day one.

Already spraying

You have the rig and the jobs. You want better material, a newer proportioner or a supplier who answers the phone.

ArmorFoam, parts and a 24/7 tech line.

What the program covers

Everything between you and your first job.

01

The rig

Trailer or box truck with the proportioner, generator, compressor and heated hose matched to the work you plan to chase. Spec'd for foam, polyurea or both.

How a rig is built
02

The material

ArmorFoam open cell at 0.5 lb density and closed cell at 2 lb density, roofing foam, and ArmorThane polyurea when you are ready to add bedliners and coatings.

Gross revenue before material, labor, fuel, insurance and overhead. Sets assume ArmorThane's published perfect-yield figures (about 17,000 board feet per open-cell set, 5,000 per closed-cell set); real jobs yield less. Prices vary by market, so use your own.

Straight answers

Questions people ask first.

It comes down to the rig more than anything: trailer or box truck, new or used proportioner, generator size, hose length, and whether the rig also sprays polyurea. ArmorThane prices options to the budget you give on the form, and equipment financing is available if you want to spread it out.

No. Training starts with chemical safety and respirator requirements and ends in certification. Plenty of applicators started with none. The ones who do well treat their first 90 days as part of the training.

No. There is no franchise fee and no royalty. You run your own business under your own name. ArmorThane supplies the rig, the material, the training and the technical support.

Yes, if it is spec'd for both from the start. Proportioner pressure, heated hose and gun choice all matter. Adding polyurea bedliners, roof coatings or protective coatings gives you work when insulation season is slow.

Safety training and a respirator fit test come first. SPFA certification is earned in levels as you gain experience; the Installer level requires 100,000 board feet sprayed. ArmorThane training ends in certification and puts you on that path.

ArmorThane is headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, and has been making coatings and training independent applicators since 1989. Training is available on-site or virtually.
